Unmasking Brain Injury

About the Program
Since 2018, the Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona has been telling the stories of hundreds of Arizonans through our Unmasking Brain Injury Exhibit.
The masks have been displayed in numerous locations throughout the state, allowing for survivors, caregivers, and family members impacted by brain injury to visually share their experience to inspire and educate thousands. In our virtual exhibit, you can now view the collection and even hear from some of the those who have participated in the project.
We hope you take your time through this inclusive exhibit. Many rooms have a theme but as you may have heard, “if you’ve seen one brain injury, then you’ve seen just one brain injury.” Every person’s story and experience are unique, as is each of the masks you are about to view.
Hear the stories of those whose lifelong recovery journeys after stroke, concussion, TBI, brain tumor, and the neurological effects of COVID-19 inspired the creation of their masks.
