Neuropsychologist Dr. Kavitha Perumparaichallai discusses our ever-evolving understanding of how “neuroplasticity”, one of our brain’s most incredible superpowers, persists and changes throughout our lives. Dr. Perumparaichallai discusses the myths and realities surrounding how our brain heals and adapts over time, and how our understanding of this process guides our comprehension of recovery after injury.

Dr. Kavitha Perumparaichallai is a neuropsychologist with 15 years of experience in neuropsychological evaluation, neurorehabilitation, cognitive retraining, and psychotherapy for individuals with neurological disorders.

Dr. Perumparaichallai completed her internship and postdoctoral residency in clinical neuropsychology at Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI), St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ. She was a faculty neuropsychologist at Barrow Neurological Institute for more than 10 years and is a member of several professional organizations, including the International Neuropsychological Society, American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, and the American Psychological Association.

Kavitha has been active with the Brain Injury Association of Arizona for years and has hosted multiple support groups in that time. She is a licensed psychologist in Arizona from 2011.
