In the late Spring of 2009, Mike Orris suffered a near-fatal injury in a bicycle accident while training for the Iron Man competition. The accident left him with a traumatic brain injury that required months of rehabilitation, including learning to recognize his family, read and write. This former captain of the Michigan State University swim team made the remarkable journey from the hospital bed to a full recovery, and then a battle through cancer and back.
Mike’s story is one of inspiration—a testament to human perseverance and the power of overcoming obstacles. Through sheer determination and unwavering spirit, he managed to rebuild not only his career but also his family life—ultimately reclaiming control over every aspect of his existence.
His experiences have shaped him into an individual who cherishes each day with gratitude while inspiring others with his remarkable journey from hospital bed to full recovery. Today, Mike Orris stands as living proof that setbacks can be transformed into opportunities for growth and personal transformation.
