This talk will cover executive functioning skills, which are the mental processes that help with planning, focus, problem-solving, managing tasks, memory, and staying organized. The talk will cover how to build and maintain executive function and organizational systems and address obstacles to maintaining a productive routine. Further, goal-setting/SMART goals, and strategies to increase the probability of following through on personal goals will be covered as well as available technology apps and tools that help sustain organizational systems and goal progress. Goals may vary and look different depending on an individual’s desires, future plans, treatment, and circumstances. Time will be left at the end of the talk to ask questions and strategize or share solutions as a group.
Dr. Emily Kade is an Arizona licensed psychologist and trained executive function coach specializing in pediatric and adult neuropsychology. Dr. Kade provides pediatric and adult evaluations, therapy, and executive function consultation services in private practice for children, teens, and adults with neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive conditions, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, language/motor impairment, brain injury, and dementia. She consults at Encompass Health Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital supporting patients with acquire brain injury, and other cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.
