Restorative | Gentle Virtual Yoga

with Nikki Matthews, Yoga Teacher and Meditation Specialist

Join us for our first adaptive recreation activity of the year, just in time for some self-care after the holidays!   This 60 minute virtual session will include restorative/gentle yoga postures along with guided relaxation and meditation.  

ABOUT PRESENTER NIKKI MATTHEWS

Nikki first began her yoga practice over 35 years ago. At an early age, the physicality of the practice grew within her an understanding of the emotional and mental benefits that accompanied it. Nikki hopes to inspire students that what you find within your practice, can be an extension of what you practice within your life.

Nikki is blessed to be a graduate of the Himalayan Institute/ Yoga International yoga teaching tradition. She is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher and 500 E-RYT. In addition to yoga, Nikki has an extensive Pilates background and has taught fitness for over 20 years with the understanding that all modalities will serve the whole. As a teacher of vinyasa, Barre, Ashtanga, and Bikram, Nikki has studied with some of the greatest teachers of our time. Through the principles of meditation, systematic guided relaxation, and yoga nidra, she has impacted her own life and has helped to balance and cultivate the inner self, bringing a calm approach to everyday stresses and life.

With a professional background in sales, executive recruiting, and acute healthcare, Nikki’s passion for leadership development and accessibility to yoga in the workplace has been a driving force. Nikki has guided endless corporate yoga and meditation classes and retreats across the country. With clients like Whole Foods, Publix, Amazon, Highlights for Children, and Wegmans, just to name a few. Nikki has also worked in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities for several years along with end-of-life work and dementia patients.

Nikki is proud to be an Acute Healthcare consultant for Govig and Associates located in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is in her current role where she can make a difference. Allowing people to find their dream job and still contribute to the health and wellness industry bringing peace of mind to healthcare executives and professionals is a real inspiration to Nikki.
