Have you ever been worried about a friend or family member and their ability to protect themselves from harm? Have you ever been concerned that they can no longer care for themselves safely after a brain injury or stroke? Do you want to know when and how to report to APS? Do you want to know what APS will do if you report? These questions and more will be answered in this session.
ABOUT JENNIFER KIRCHEN
Jennifer is stroke survivor and a knowledgeable program director with over 20 years of APS experience at the county, state and national levels. She began her career as an APS investigator which gives her tremendous insight into the needs of APS field investigators. She has a unique perspective having directed APS programs in both Minnesota and Arizona and now works in APS at the national level. Since having her stroke in 2010, she has been passionate about giving back to the stroke community and has volunteered at hospitals providing peer support to fellow stroke survivors, facilitated stroke groups, participated in public service announcements, spoke at conferences and participated in fundraising campaigns raising thousands of dollars to increase stroke awareness. She embraces the motto: Act FAST! Time loss is brain loss!
