My Creativity is Killing Me:
The Courage to Be Creative Workbook
by Laura Warshauer
Tuesday, Jan 14th 10:30 AM (AZ/MST)
REGISTRATION CLOSES MONDAY 1/13 @ NOON
Join us for a creative twist on our signature Coffee with the Authors series. In a special event just for the disability community, author, songwriter, and singer Laura Warshauer will discuss her new book.
Laura Warshauer was the first-ever recipient of the Buddy Holly Prize from the Songwriters Hall of Fame, she has performed for Jay Z and was previously signed to Island Def Jam and she has had songs featured on Netflix, Amazon Prime as well as on commercials for Ralph Lauren and Motorola. Among all of the success, Laura has had setbacks and these have fueled her creative endeavors. She looks to inspire others to dig deep and use their creativity as a superpower.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Creativity enables alternative ways of thinking and problem-solving. It can unblock old patterns or habits of thinking, allow for non-linear thinking, and encourage empathy. In the disability community, creativity can be used to share your unique story through art, songs, poems, or writing. It is a vehicle to express our frustrations, fears, and joy. Creativity can also be a way to launch a new or second career.
But what happens when you feel like your creativity is blocked or your ideas just are not coming together? Join Laura as she discusses her new book and how we can all tap into our creativity in the New Year.
